Practical Information

Groups without a guide/escort are not allowed into the Basilica. The presence of at least one guide is compulsory for tours to take place.

Once the voucher has been purchased, it is not possible to change the date or time of entry.

It is possible to add people to the group by paying the difference of the voucher by credit card on the day of the visit.

Example: having purchased a voucher of 1.000 € for a maximum of 50 people. You will pay, if the day of the visit the group consists of 51 to 100 people, the difference of 1.000 €. 

Groups with more than 100 people are not allowed.

Please arrive at the Porta dei Fiori (entrance for Mass found in Piazzetta dei Leoncini) 5 minutes before with your guide/escort. The reception staff will let you in through the most appropriate entrance depending on high-water conditions or any construction works taking place in the Basilica.

The reception staff will collect the voucher and scan the QR-CODE at the turnstile for each guest present.

The start time of the visit is the time chosen at the time of purchase and stated on the voucher. It is necessary to be punctual in order to give all visitors the best experience.

The duration of the visit is a maximum of 60' (including entry and exit)

Clothing and conduct must be in keeping with the religious nature of the building.

For more than 30 persons, visitors must be divided into two groups and the presence of two guides/escorts will be required.

Backpacks and/or luggage larger than 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm are not allowed.
Trolleys are not allowed under any circumstances.
Security personnel may refuse entry to non-compliant backpacks and/or baggage.
